  1.                            EXPENSE-INCOME-SERVICE HELP

  3.    This file contains all your income and expense categories.  It also contains
  4. abbreviations you may wish to use when entering services/fees.
  5.  
  6.    Each line contains an ABBREVIATION, a DESCRIPTION, and a CATEGORY NUMBER.
  7. Make sure that each line's items are aligned correctly (the TAB key may be used
  8. for this purpose).

  10.    The category number should begin with "E-" if it's for an EXPENSE category.
  11. Begin it with "I-" for an INCOME category.  Don't even bother filling in a
  12. category number if the line you're on contains a service abbreviation.  Cate-
  13. gory numbers must be whole numbers, up to four digits long.  No decimals are
  14. allowed.

  16.    If you have BillPower Plus, you can also fill in a fourth item on each line,
  17. the G/L account that should be updated whenever you make a transaction invol-
  18. ving the category specified on that line.  Begin this item with a "+" or a "-"
  19. to indicate whether the amount of the trasaction should be added to or subtrac-
  20. ted from the account's balance.

  22.    Finally, remember to make sure that your entries are properly aligned.
